The Brain is a Fear Super-fan

Conquered through an argument. Conquered through reactivity. Reactivity in front of an argument. No matter how much yelling it took. Then I saw it. My suffering in the argument. My suffering in the reactivity. My suffering in my thinking.

I saw the chaos. The chaos of thought turbulence. Sped up thought. Sped up and suffering. Sped up and suffering in a thought based experience. A very human experience. Called thought. Very normal. But not the truth. Not who I am. Not who you are. And there it was. Just like that. It turned me on to the teaching of mind/thought/consciousness. Discovered by an everyday man. An everyday man named Sydney Banks.

I am that everyday man. I am that everyday man who sees my peace. Sees my calm. Sees my quiet. Amidst the chaos of disatisfaction. Amidst the tumult childhood demons. Childhood frailties. Than it happened. Happened on an average ordinary day. It was on that ordinary day I saw the chaos. The chaos of my thinking. Innocently convincing me. A convincing me of a story. A story in the moment. A truth in the blink of an eye. A contrived truth. A contrived truth sponsored by a supercomputer. A supercomputer called the brain. A brain making it all up in real time by the ultimate fear superfan.

A fear super-fan called your brain.

It is not on purpose. It is just part of an experience. Written, produced, and directed by your personal mind. A personal mind replaying a narrative. A narrative called habitual thought. Habitual thought your brain replays over and over and over again. Like a 1980’s auto reverse cassette deck. Your brain thinks will keep you safe. But when it comes down to it thought and thinking cannot protect you. Inner wisdom (underneath thought) protects you. Your inner resilience (underneath thought) protects you. Underneath the brain’s technicolor neural “cineplex.”

This is the secret sauce. A wonderful space. A space you all experience. That space called stillness. In that stillness you see your resilience. Resillience in your partner. Resilience in your children. Resilience in world leaders.

Most important, resilience in yourself.
